Major problems after eye infection

Elton John has been suffering from the effects of an eye infection for months. He has now explained in an interview how much this limits him.
Elton John (77) has lost his sight in one eye, but apparently there is hope for improvement. The British pop star said he has not been able to see on his right side since July. The loss of vision was due to an eye infection that he contracted in the south of France in the summer.
“It kind of blew my mind and I can’t see anything anymore. I can’t read anything anymore, I can’t watch anything anymore,” he explained. His work as a musician obviously suffers as well. When asked about his planned new album, Elton John said it had been “a while since I’ve done anything.”
“There is hope”
However, there is “hope and encouragement that it will be good, but I’m kind of stuck at the moment. Going into the studio and recording, I don’t know,” he said. The singer added that his “left eye is not the best,” which prevents him from reading lyrics or seeing anything, but that he is “taking the initiative” to improve the situation.
Back in September, the musician reported that he had contracted an infection and could only see to a limited extent in one eye. “I am on the mend, but it is an extremely slow process and it will take time for vision to return in the affected eye,” the singer wrote at the time.
Nevertheless, Elton John apparently remains in a positive mood overall: “I’m the happiest man in the world,” he said on “Good Morning America.” “I’m proud of the way I feel about myself and what I do. I’m just very lucky and very grateful.”
Elton John is currently on a promotional tour for the documentary “Elton John: Never Too Late”, which will be available on the Disney+ streaming service from December 13th.
