Glastonbury has announced that Rod Stewart will occupy the coveted position of festival legend next year.
The singer-songwriter will perform on the Pyramid stage at the Worthy Farm event on Sunday, June 29. He previously headlined Glasto in 2002, alongside Coldplay and Stereophonics.
“We are delighted to announce that Sir @RodStewart will be playing the role of Sunday Tea legend at Glastonbury 2025,” reads a post on the festival’s social media channels.
Stewart said: “I’m absolutely delighted to announce that I will be playing Glastonbury 2025! After all these years, I’m proud and ready and more than capable to get back on stage to please and excite my friends at Glastonbury in June. I’ll see you there!”

Stewart is the first artist officially confirmed for Glastonbury 2025. He follows artists such as Shania Twain, Yusuf/Cat Stevens, Diana Ross, Kylie Minogue, Dolly Parton and Barry Gibb upon assuming the prestigious position of legend.
It was previously rumored that Cher I would be the Legend next summer.
Rod Stewart says goodbye to world tours
Earlier this month, Stewart revealed that he would stop doing “large-scale world tours” when his current series of dates would end. However, he told his followers that he had “no desire to retire” completely.
“I love what I do and I do what I love”he continued. “I am fit, have a full head of hair and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the cheerful age of 79.”
“I’d like to tour Great American Songbook, Swing Fever next year, in smaller, more intimate venues. But, on the other hand, maybe not…”
Stewart will embark on Las Vegas residencies in 2025 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. In addition, he plans to tour Europe and North America, following two shows in Spain and Denmark next month.
