The president of Chile, Gabriel Boricfaces a complaint for the alleged sexual harassment of a woman 10 years ago, which the president rejects “categorically”as revealed by his defense. The fact refers to a series of email exchanges between the complainant and Boric, in which there were sending intimate images without consent.
“The president (…) categorically rejects and denies the complaint” of an event that occurred in 2013, when he had just graduated from his law studies, said the lawyer. Jonatan Valenzuela in a statement.
The complaint was filed in the Magallanes Prosecutor’s Officewhich confirmed the existence of the case against the president.
What is the complaint against Gabriel Boric like?
According to the defense of the Chilean president, the complainant is a woman who at the time sent Boric 25 emails, one of them with explicit imagesan “unsolicited or unconsensual” shipment. The lawyer He noted that the woman “filed a complaint without any basis” and that Boric “never had an emotional or friendly relationship with her and they have had no communication since July 2014.”
Boric will complete his four-year term in 2026 without the right to re-election. It has a special jurisdiction and, to be investigated, Justice must first approve an impeachment trial. In the campaign for his election in 2021, Boric was accused of another alleged sexual harassment that he also denied at the time. The complaint was never criminally investigated.
The case against him occurs on a par with other accusations of sexual abuse and rape, in this case against a former strong man of the Executive in matters of Security, Manuel Monsalvein preventive detention.

The string of emails from Boric and the complainant: what the president’s defense says
Boric’s lawyer insisted that his client is the victim of the exchanges with the complainant, after a series of emails “constituting systematic harassment against him.” In addition, he maintained that it is clear that there was “Responses that show the disorientation of those who receive an email without any type of justification”in reference to Boric’s answers with question marks and questions.
The 25 emails consist of conversations without much fluidity, where the majority of messages are from the complainant to the current president, even without responses from Boric. Some of the emails are the following:
