The vice governor of Neuquén, Gloria Ruizwas released this week from Nequinize Frontthe space with which he came to power alongside the current president Rolando Figueroaafter dethroning the historic in 2023 Neuquén Popular Movement (MPN), and his future in office is unknown.
The scandal with Ruiz occurs as part of a plot that includes allegations of corruption involving his brother, Pablo, acused for diversion of public funds during the period in which he held a position in the provincial Legislature.
Political crisis in Neuquén
This Monday, the official space held a press conference at the Museum of Fine Arts in Neuquén, in which it gave details about the expulsion of the vice-governor from its ranks. At the same time, they published a statement making the official’s departure official.

However, despite the lieutenant governor’s defense, her brother was removed from the position he held and a handful of legislators from the ruling party will advance the investigation of the case, with the intention of removing Ruiz from the provincial Executive Branch.
