Robbie Williams on the fate of his parents: mother suffers from dementia, father from Parkinson’s

Pop star Robbie Williams (50) is struggling with serious illnesses in his immediate environment. A few years ago, Williams announced that his father suffered from Parkinson’s disease.

“My mother is currently suffering from dementia – like my grandmother in the film – and my father has Parkinson’s and can no longer get out of bed”, . For this reason, he is “in a different part of my life right now.”

Williams did not provide any further information about his 83-year-old mother’s health in the interview. Janet Williams raised her son and his sister Sally Williams, 60, alone after his parents divorced when Williams was just three years old.

The former Take That singer first spoke about his father Pete Conway’s Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2020. “We’re having a lot of family problems at the moment. Gwen Field (74), the mother of Williams’ wife Ayda Field (45), is also struggling with serious health problems. Robbie Williams’ grandmother Betty Williams (1912-1998), who died in 1998, also suffered from dementia. Her fate plays an important role in the upcoming biopic “Better Man – The Robbie Williams Story”.
