Robbie Williams has made another illness in his family public: mother Janet suffers from dementia and his father Pete suffers from Parkinson’s.
Pop star Robbie Williams (50) is struggling with serious illnesses in his immediate environment. The singer, about whose life the biopic “Better Man – The Robbie Williams Story” will be released on January 2nd, revealed during the promotional tour for the film that his mother Janet Williams (83) was suffering from dementia. A few years ago, Williams announced that his father suffered from Parkinson’s disease.
Serious blows of fate for Robbie Williams
“My mother is currently suffering from dementia – like my grandmother in the film – and my father has Parkinson’s and can no longer get out of bed”, . For this reason, he is “in a different part of my life right now.”
Williams did not provide any further information about his 83-year-old mother’s health in the interview. Janet Williams raised her son and his sister Sally Williams, 60, alone after his parents divorced when Williams was just three years old.
His wife’s mother is also seriously ill
The former Take That singer first spoke about his father Pete Conway’s Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2020. “We’re having a lot of family problems at the moment. My father has Parkinson’s disease, my mother-in-law, who I love very much, has a severe one “Illness. We can’t come to them. My father is thousands of miles away,” he said at the time during the Corona lockdown.
Gwen Field (74), the mother of Williams’ wife Ayda Field (45), is also struggling with serious health problems. She also has Parkinson’s disease and also suffers from the rare autoimmune disease lupus. To make matters worse, Poupette and Walle, the couple’s two dogs, also died together in September of this year. The couple reported that they died together in one bed.
Robbie Williams’ grandmother Betty Williams (1912-1998), who died in 1998, also suffered from dementia. Her fate plays an important role in the upcoming biopic “Better Man – The Robbie Williams Story”.
