It should be remembered that the HERE adhered to the FIA in 1926, the entity responsible for the organization of Formula 1 races, and together with it, the Club organized an innumerable number of automobile events in Argentina, including the Grand Prix which, since 1953 and in different stages, was part of the category calendar.
In turn, the HERE was fundamental in supporting the great Argentine pilots of the Formula 1 throughout the history of the institution, both in professional development and logistical aspects. In fact, several cars used by Argentine drivers in Formula 1 races are exhibited in the Automobile Museum at the Club’s Headquarters.
Regarding the reasons for the tribute, the president of the ACA Board of Directors, César Carmanassured that “representing Argentina in world motorsports is a fundamental task for the Club and the achievements of drivers like Fangio, Reutemann, and now Colapintothey fill us with pride and are the result of that effort.”
For carmanthese pilots knew how to mark the tracks with the colors of our flag and left a legacy of technique and bravery that continues to excite adults and inspire young people. “Fighting to see them at the top of the podium is a permanent mission for this institution, and, even more so, that one day they will do it again on Argentine soil.”
