The term of this body will be the same as that of the presidency, with the possibility of renewal under the same terms. The agreement was formalized with the signature of the governors of the participating provinces.

The governor gave details of what was done during his administration: The evaluation of 34 prospecting and exploration environmental impact reports was completed, highlighting the EIA of the Hualilán project, the first approved gold project after 17 years.
On the other hand, he said: “San Juan understands mining as a State policy, building a robust industry that respects natural resources, prioritizes the care of water and generates employment.” He added that “we celebrate strategic alliances such as the recent one between BHP and Lundin for projects such as Josemaría and “Filo del Sol, positioning San Juan within the Top 10 globally.”
To conclude, he said: “Community trust is essential. Trust is gained in grams, but it is lost in kilos and in San Juan we have shown that it is possible to achieve lasting consensus. “Mining is not only the present, but the future of our provinces and of a country that is committed to sustainable development.”
Cornejo said that many challenges were raised and that a path of coexistence and consensus regarding mining is coming.

For his part, Governor Sáenz assured that “The biggest challenge we have is that today the world demands what we have to give them. In this case the opportunity is today. “We must manage to maintain sustainability and social license in mining over time.”
