Musician Robbie Williams will auction three Banksy’s from his personal collection

It is the first time that the ex-Take That singer has sold something from his own personal collection, although he is known to be an art lover and owns three paintings by the anonymous graffiti artist from Bristol, valued at 10 million pounds sterling, which is equivalent at just over $13 million.

“I love Banksy’s art. It’s iconic and impactful. And it makes me laugh. They are some of his best paintings and I love how tied they are to street pieces,” the British singer said in a statement announcing the auction.

The auction house explained that Williams has lived with these works in his Los Angeles home for several years, but that these are not the only Banksy works he owns.

It will also be the first time that Banksy’s iconic work, “Kissing coppers”, also known as “Kissing Cops” which first appeared on the wall of The Prince Albert pub in Brighton in 2004, has gone under the hammer.

Meanwhile, “Vandalized Oils” shows armed military helicopters flying over a serene pastoral landscape, while “Girl with Balloon”, the girl with the red balloon, is one of the most iconic creations of the anonymous graffiti artist,

The trio of paintings kicked off a world tour on January 22, kicking off in New York, then heading to Hong Kong and finally stopping in London, where they will go on sale on March 2.
