He won’t “give up”

Moderator Thomas Gottschalk speaks clearly about the upcoming end of his “Supernasen” podcast. He was “fed up”.

Moderator Thomas Gottschalk (74) does not want to leave the recent events surrounding his and Mike Krüger’s (72) podcast “Die Supernasen” uncommented. A few days ago it was announced by Gottschalk and confirmed by broadcaster RTL that the podcast is ending and the last two episodes will be available on RTL+ on December 3rd and 17th.

Thomas Gottschalk: Farewell as a podcaster

“Yes, it’s true, I’m also saying goodbye as a podcaster at the end of the year. I’m tired of being constantly interpreted by people who want to publicly damage me, and of being misunderstood by those who simply don’t understand me want,” Gottschalk writes to get his anger off his chest. : “But there is a difference between ‘giving up’ and ‘being fed up’. I’m not thinking of giving up and will continue to say what I think loudly and clearly (without claiming to be right).” . But he’s “actually fed up”, even though there’s a lot going into my teeth!”, the post says with a little wink.

Finally, Thomas Gottschalk would like to thank his co-podcaster in particular. “Thanks to my friend Mike Krüger, who I’ve certainly gotten closer to in our ‘Supernasen’ podcast than in our films, but we’ve also grown older and more mature together,” he tells the comedian, actor, cabaret artist and singer. “Thank you also to all the apostles who followed us through these turbulent times,” he concludes with a greeting to the fans and non-moral apostles.

The bone of contention was “a gag at Maite’s expense”

The trigger for a conflict was Gottschalk’s failed joke at the expense of singer Maite Kelly (44) in his most recent podcast edition. A few days ago, in a conversation with Krüger about his upcoming appearance in the Christmas show “The Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights” (November 30th, 8:15 p.m., the first) by Florian Silbereisen (43), he said: “I probably have to Maite Push Kelly aside so people can see me.”

There was then a hail of criticism. Gottschalk reacted with incomprehension. His statement was neither “misogynistic” nor “malicious,” he told the “Bild” newspaper. “But it was undoubtedly a gag that came at Maite’s expense,” he admitted.

Singer Maite Kelly (44) also reacted with clear words. “Thank God my father gave me enough self-love that jokes at the expense of my figure were the least of my concerns in my life,” she told the tabloid. But not every girl is lucky enough to have a dad like that. That’s why “such degrading sentences, actions or gestures are unacceptable,” she makes clear. “And as adults we have a duty to protect our children, brothers and sisters from this,” adds the mother of three daughters (born 2006, 2008, 2014).

In an initial reaction, Gottschalk also announced on Tuesday (November 26th) that the podcast would end at the end of the year.
