At work he likes to let loose, but in his private life he lives in a pigsty: actor Hinnerk Schönemann is much more than just “North by Northwest”. Now he is 50 years old.
He hates red carpet appearances. Small talks too. Hinnerk Schönemann loves his peace and quiet – and life in the country. Since 2008 he has lived in a community of 50 people in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, his home is a converted pigsty. He loves chopping wood, making hay and driving his tractor around the Oktoberfest.
Things look completely different in Schönemann’s professional life. As police officer and veterinarian Hauke Jacobs, he regularly reaches an audience of millions with his ARD series “Nord bei Nordwest”. The role has become something of Schönemann’s trademark, and he has appeared in many award-winning films: “The Deputy” (2002), “The Lives of Others” (2006) and “Work without an Author” (2018). In 2011, director Steven Spielberg hired him for his war drama “Companions”. An engagement for Quentin Tarantino’s film “Inglourious Basterds” failed due to a language barrier: Schönemann was supposed to read a text in French, but had only rehearsed it in English.
The actor likes to keep his personal life private. He was once in a relationship with his fellow actress Anneke Kim Sarnau and has three children with three different women. Will they all come when Schönemann celebrates his 50th birthday on November 30, 2024? Unclear. He also hates big fetuses. “More than two people at once make me uneasy. When I drag myself to a birthday party, I’m happy if I can leave after twenty minutes,” he told the in 2022 star. He might make an exception for his own party.
