Demi Moore celebrated her breakthrough in 1990 with today’s cult film “Ghost – Message from Sam”. She was afraid of a flop.
Hollywood superstar Demi Moore (62) knows only too well that you are always smarter afterwards. As she reveals in a recent interview, even with the box office hit “Ghost – Message from Sam”, which made her a global star in 1990, she couldn’t predict beforehand whether the film would be a success.
Demi Moore apparently loves the risk of failure
The conversation with presenter Sean Evans (38) was actually about her latest project, the body horror film “The Substance”. Evans addresses the actress’s previous statements that after reading the script, she wasn’t sure whether the film “could be something extraordinary or an absolute disaster.” In her response, Moore asserts that it was something “worth the risk.”
Incidentally, throughout her eventful career, she repeatedly took the risk of one of her films hitting the wall. She learned that this pays off, not least through the film with which she celebrated her big breakthrough in 1990. Even with the fantasy thriller comedy “Ghost – Message from Sam” she was unsure whether the work could be “either great or a damn catastrophe”.
After all fears turned out to be unfounded, Moore apparently has no problem taking risks when choosing roles if they have a certain something. “Get in. Take the risk. Let the dice roll. Let’s see what happens,” is how Moore describes the whole thing.
