Wayne Rooney sends a love letter to the Australian jungle. His wife Coleen is on “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”
Wayne Rooney (39) sends emotional greetings to the jungle camp. His wife Coleen (38) is currently in “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” in Australia, the British original of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!”. On Sunday evening there was the tradition, also known from the German version, that the candidates received letters from home.
Coleen Rooney’s fellow camper, radio presenter Dean McCullough (32), read out the letter written by Wayne Rooney and his four sons. The ex-footballer and his wife are the parents of Kai (15), Klay (11), Kit (8) and Cass (6).
“I’m so proud of you”
“Colleen, I’ve never missed you so much in my life,” Wayne Rooney said. “You’re doing a great job and showing everyone what a wonderful, down-to-earth woman you are,” the former national player continued. “I’m so proud of you and can’t wait to see you again,” he concluded.
A Rooney son doesn’t seem to miss his mum that much. At least not her screaming when she wakes him up in the morning. “I am so proud to call you my mother,” he then wrote. Colleen Rooney shed a few tears as she heard the news from home.
Record fee for player’s wife?
According to “The Independent”, Coleen Rooney received the highest salary ever received by a participant on “I’m A Celebrity…”. With a rumored 1.5 million pounds (around 1.8 million euros) she would trump Brexit politician Nigel Farage (60).
Coleen Rooney became known in the British tabloid press primarily through a feud with another player’s wife. She accused Rebekah Vardy (42), the wife of Wayne Rooney colleague Jamie Vardy (37), of leaking intimate information to the press. The scandal heard in court became known as Wagatha Christie. The made-up word is made up of the name of the crime writer Agatha Christie and the term WAG – the common abbreviation in Great Britain for partners of footballers (Wifes and Girlfriends).
In addition to Coleen Rooney, there is another family member of a well-known celebrity in Germany on “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!”: Oti Mabuse (34). The sister of “Let’s Dance” juror Motsi Mabuse (43) was active as a professional dancer in the British edition of the dance show.
The South African did not receive a letter from her sister, but from her husband Marius. Colleen Rooney read it.
