Family reunion on the Walk of Fame: Kerry Washington was accompanied by her husband and parents to the awarding of her star.
The American actress Kerry Washington (47) was awarded a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday (December 2nd). She received support from her family and many friends and colleagues.
“Just take a deep breath and be grateful”
Her husband Nnamdi Asomugha (43) beamed next to the actress. She has been married to the former football player since 2013 and the couple has two children. Her parents Valerie and Earl Washington also took the opportunity to pose proudly with their successful daughter. In addition, other colleagues, screenwriter and producer Shonda Rhimes (54) and her long-time friend and colleague Tyler Perry (55) also came to celebrate this important occasion.
Kerry Washington is known, among other things, from the series “Scandal” and the Quentin Tarantino film “Django Unchained”. Born in New York, she studied theater at George Washington University and has appeared in numerous film and television productions since 2000. On the occasion of her Walk of Fame honor, she revealed the advice she would give her younger self these days:
“I would tell her to try to enjoy the journey and trust that everything will work out in the end,” Kerry told “Extra.” “I think sometimes we worry so much about whether life is going to turn out the way we want it to, but you should just take a deep breath and be grateful for where you are in each moment.”
Role in “The Six Triple Eight”
Washington will next be seen in the war drama “The Six Triple Eight,” written and directed by Tyler Perry. The film will be released in select US cinemas on December 6th and will be available on Netflix on December 20th.
