Apple Music: Most popular song by Ayliva and Apache 207
Which songs did German music fans listen to most often this year? At least one streaming service has now revealed that. The German music industry should be pleased with the results.
Local music stars have been popular among Apple Music users in Germany this year. Of the ten most streamed songs, five come from German acts, the platform said. Singer Ayliva (26) from Recklinghausen and the Mannheim rapper Apache 207 (27) made it to number one in the annual charts with the duet “Wunder”. The accompanying video was recently named the most successful music clip of the year in Germany by YouTube.
The other most-streamed songs were British musician Artemas with “I like the way you kiss me” and Koblenz DJ Bennett with a techno mix of the French choir song “Vois sur ton chemin”.
Rapper Kendrick Lamar is the world’s number one
The world’s biggest hit of the current year on Apple Music comes from US rapper Kendrick Lamar (“Not Like Us”), who completely unexpectedly released his sixth studio album a week ago, ahead of US newcomer Benson Boone (“Beautiful Things”) and the former Disney actress Sabrina Carpenter (“Espresso”).
Other major streaming services such as Spotify or Deezer have not yet published their annual charts.
