December 4, 2024: Victoria and David Beckham at the state banquet at Buckingham Palace
This appearance even made Victoria Beckham nervous: the 50-year-old and her husband David Beckham were among the guests at the state banquet hosted by King Charles III. for the Emir of Qatar. Hand in hand and elegantly dressed in black, the couple walked down the East Gallery at Buckingham Palace. David Beckham received an invitation because he was promoting the 2022 World Cup in Qatar – a not uncontroversial commitment. The ex-athlete has maintained a close relationship with the British royal family for years. In 2011, he and his wife Victoria attended William and Kate’s royal wedding. Most recently he appeared at Prince William’s side because he helped him collect donations, and Beckham shares a love of nature and beekeeping with Prince Charles. The King appointed Beckham as an ambassador for his charity, the King’s Foundation, in the summer. David Beckham has only hoped for one thing – so far – in vain: his big dream is to be knighted by the Royals.
