The Swedish King Carl XVI. Gustaf, 78, mourns the loss of his beloved sister. Like the Royal Palace on Wednesday, among other things, Princess Birgitta (1937 – 2024) died “on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, at the age of 87 in Mallorca”. A cause of death is not mentioned in the post.

And further: “Together with my entire family, I express my condolences today to the children and grandchildren of Princess Birgitta.”

Princess Birgitta was born in 1937, more than nine years before her brother Carl XVI. Gustaf, the light of the world. But in the line of succession to the throne, as a male descendant, he was above her. “Princess Birgitta was the widow of Prince Johann Georg von Hohenzollern (1932 – 2016) and then lived abroad for a long time.
