A few days ago, Cathy Hummels beamed at the Düsseldorf WoMen on Top event, which campaigns for equal rights. Does she stop laughing when she thinks about the upcoming holidays? At least there is now a new woman in the family: her footballer ex appeared for the first time with his girlfriend Nicola Cavanis (25) at the Ballon d’Or award ceremony at the end of October.
When asked about it by RTL in an interview, Cathy Hummels says: “It is what it is.” I’m generally really cool. What counts for me is my son, he has top priority. I love my job, I’m very grateful for everything I have, what I’m allowed to do and, above all, that we’re healthy.”
Is she sitting under the Christmas tree with his new wife?
The presenter, influencer and entrepreneur will be celebrating Christmas in Germany this year. In theory, there is nothing standing in the way of a patchwork family celebration with Mats Hummels and his new partner, RTL asks. “Everything is mixed in our family. We’ll all celebrate together somehow,” replies Hummels. But also emphasizes: “First and foremost, I celebrate with my son. And everything else comes after that.” Son Ludwig (6) comes from his marriage to the former Borussia Dortmund player.
Cathy Hummels didn’t always have the strength that she shows today: “I think you have to acquire strength like that. If you’ve been through as much as I have, then you have the choice: either you give up or you carry on and becomes stronger.” The 36-year-old used to suffer from depression and an eating disorder. She revealed her story of suffering in her book “My Detour to Happiness”.
Speculation about the relationship between the footballer, who currently plays for AS Roma, and the model, who is around ten years his junior, has been circulating for months. At the end of October, Mats Hummels made his new partnership public. The ex-national player was married to Cathy Hummels from 2015 to 2022.
