Actress Senta Berger has been awarded the Bavarian Constitutional Order. Next up is a film premiere.
Actress Senta Berger (83) reports back. On Thursday (December 5th) she took part in the awarding of the Bavarian Constitutional Order, with which her colleague Michaela May (72), among others, was honored.
Eberhofer actor Sebastian Bezzel (53), cabaret artist Eva Karl Faltermeier (41) and sprinter Gina Brückenkemper (28) will receive their medals at a later date. “You have made a special contribution to the implementation of the principles of the Bavarian Constitution. Our democracy lives from people like you,” said State Parliament President Ilse Aigner (59), praising the 44 new dignitaries.
Senta Berger arrived at the appointment in a dark, knee-length knitted dress with tights and boots. She beamed charmingly into the cameras – a great achievement after the heavy loss in the spring. On April 22nd, her long-time husband, director Michael Verhoeven (1938-2024), died in Munich after a short, serious illness.
First public appearance in November
She made her first public appearance after her husband’s death at the beginning of November in his honor at the German Film Museum in Frankfurt. A retrospective of his best films was shown there. “I’m not feeling so well”, . But she also added: “This invitation is wonderful and I would like to accept it. It doesn’t cost me any energy. It’s about my husband’s work, not about revealing private things. The work just keeps me going,” said Berger.
The first film premiere is coming up
And Senta Berger also continues her work as an actress. On January 10, 2025, the TV feature film “Do you know” by director Rainer Kaufmann (65) will premiere at 8:15 p.m. on Erste. The press work for this has already started. Cult actor Günther Maria Halmer (81) can be seen at Berger’s side. You play the married couple Marianne and Günter, who have grown apart over the years. But with the help of two miracle pills, they relive the ups and downs of their life together…
Before the broadcast, however, Senta Berger and her family will have their first Christmas without her husband. She told “Bild” that she would spend it “with the children and their children.” “There are quite a few of us. I’m not lonely, at least I won’t admit that to you,” added the Viennese native.
