The 46-year-old clearly won the audience voting on Friday evening in the live show broadcast by Sat.1 with almost 30 percent of the votes. “You did it,” her coach Samu Haber shouted to the disbelieving Lynn, who fell to her knees after the decision around midnight and cried tears of joy.
The experienced ballad queen, who often accompanied herself on the piano, used to work as a professional singer in the Netherlands. When she met her future husband there, she moved to his hometown of Regensburg, had two children and put her career on hold for the time being.
Lynn wins over audience with piano ballad
In “The Voice” Lynn saw the chance for a comeback. The mother of two presented her own song “Light The Sky” in the almost four-hour live finale from Berlin. She explained that she wrote the piano ballad around ten years ago. “Jennifer is a wonder woman,” said her Finnish coach Haber. It is the third victory at the music show for the former Sunrise Avenue frontman.
For the first time, six candidates made it to the final. There the acts sang together with their coaches and their own songs, which have been heard on streaming platforms for a long time.
Music show featured familiar faces and a newcomer
In the “Voice” season that has now come to an end, ProSieben and Sat.1 are once again relying on familiar faces. In addition to veteran Mark Forster (41), who was there for the seventh time, Yvonne Catterfeld (45) and Samu Haber (48) returned to the red chairs. Pop singer Kamrad (27) celebrated the premiere.
