Vanessa Mai: Great joy at the compliment from pop star Sia

Singer Vanessa Mai (32) apparently has a special Australian fan: Pop star Sia (48) shared a link to Mai’s song “Snowman” in an Instagram story. It says: “Your favorite Christmas song in German.” The singer, who has around 8.3 million followers on Instagram, has a special connection to the song.

The single “Snowman,” which was released in mid-November and has recently been available, is based on Sia’s hit “Snowman,” which was released in 2017. “There are many German versions of various Christmas songs, but ‘Snowman’ hasn’t existed yet,” said Mai in an interview with spot on news about the song’s release. “And it fits perfectly in German, which isn’t always the case.”

Vanessa Mai is of course pleased that Sia is also obviously enthusiastic about the version. She shared a repost on Instagram with an touched emoji. she explains in a statement: “I think it’s great that a global star like Sia has become aware of my song and is celebrating my version of ‘Snowman’! No matter whether in the snow or X-Mas under palm trees – Christmas simply connects us everywhere of the world.”

In an interview with spot on news, the musician also spoke about her enthusiasm for Christmas and why she has a passion for the contemplative time: “I think because we really find peace and the feeling of ‘being able to be proud of ourselves’ returns, Because we’ve done so much that year. The family comes together. The Christmas decorations relax me, as do the films and series at Christmas.”

She also has “only good” childhood memories of past Christmases, said the musician. “My parents always gave me the best celebrations. I especially liked when my dad played gigs and we were there. That was always great because everyone was dressed festively and it was just cool to experience Christmas and New Year’s Eve in a different way other kids.” A warm Christmas is out of the question for the singer, but in keeping with her song she can imagine a holiday in the snow with her husband Andreas Ferber (41): “We love going to the mountains in winter and will definitely do that too do this winter.”
