The model Franziska Knuppe turns 50 on December 7th. For her, it’s a birthday like any other, Knuppe reveals in an interview.
Franziska Knuppe celebrates a milestone on December 7th: the German model turns 50. Since she was discovered by designer Wolfgang Joop (80) in a Potsdam café 27 years ago, she has been in international demand and has worked with renowned photographers around the world. The fact that she is now half a century old doesn’t bother her, she said in an interview with the news agency spot on news.
“Nothing changes for me. I have always accepted and celebrated my birthdays as they come,” explained Knuppe on Wednesday evening (December 4th) at the “Mon Chéri Barbara Day” in Munich. The fact that she cracks the magic number 50 is “relatively irrelevant” to her. But there should still be a big party – in the summer. “I wanted a summer party,” said the Rostock native. There are no concrete plans yet, but there should be nothing missing from the celebrations.
Birthday meets Christmas spirit
With a birthday on December 7th, Franziska Knuppe’s special day falls right during the Christmas season. The festive mood always sets in relatively late for her, even though she has already decorated at home. “But after the first Christmas market visits and the first mulled wine, I’m sure the mood will come – at the latest with the first snowfall,” reported the presenter.
But Knuppe’s birthday is also linked to a sad event, as she previously announced. Twelve years ago, her father succumbed to lung cancer on exactly her birthday. “There’s always a teary eye involved. […] We toast him and exchange memories. That feels good.”
Franziska Knuppe is one of the biggest German models. Since her discovery, she has worked with numerous international brands, including Reebok, Montblanc and Dior, and graced magazine covers such as “Elle” and “Vogue”. She also enjoyed great success on the catwalk and is a welcome guest at various events. Knuppe has been married to Christian Möstl since 1999, and their daughter Ruby was born in 2007.
