Festive four-legged friends: The Christmas Sweater Corgi Parade in London

The weather was anything but Christmassy, but the corgis’ clothes were: in London, numerous four-legged friends met for the Christmas sweater parade. We show the best pictures.

Corgis were the Queen’s favorite dogs: Queen Elizabeth II, who died in 2022, owned numerous corgis herself: Since her accession to the throne in 1952, the monarch has had more than 30 corgis and dorgis – dachshund-corgi mixes.

And so it’s no surprise that numerous dog owners gathered in the British capital London on Saturday for a Christmas sweater corgi parade. It was probably due to the rain that the number of participants remained manageable. There must have been no more than 30 dogs who braved the typical London weather.

It is not the first event of this kind: two years ago, Corgi owners met in the heart of London shortly before Christmas. And a few months earlier there was a similar gathering: two years ago, on the occasion of her 70th anniversary on the throne, numerous Corgi owners and their four-legged friends gathered and held a parade in honor of the Queen. Many of the dogs wore festive collars or even came in uniform.

You can also say: Corgis are extremely elegant animals.
