Martin Freeman and Rachel Benaissa: Lovely couple appearance in London

They often don’t appear side by side, but when they do, they publicly demonstrate their affection for each other: Martin Freeman (53) attended the British Independent Film Awards with his girlfriend, French actress Rachel Benaissa (30). London took part. The couple presented themselves arm in arm to the photographers on the red carpet.

Freeman had chosen a blue suit for the evening of the awards ceremony, combined with a light blue shirt, a black tie with gold dots, a pocket square and glasses with black rims and colored lenses. His girlfriend beamed next to him in a black oversized pantsuit, under which she only wore a black bralette. A black handbag, strappy sandals and several gold chains around her neck completed the look. She wore her curly dark hair open.

Freeman and the actress, who is almost twenty years his junior, made their relationship public in 2021. Since then, they have rarely appeared together in public. Martin Freeman was previously in a relationship with his fellow actress Amanda Abbington (50). He has two children with her: son Joe Freeman (18) and daughter Grace Freeman (16).

Freeman and Abbington separated at the end of 2016 after a long-term relationship. Among other things, they appeared together in the series “Sherlock” and also played a couple there – Dr. John Watson and his wife Mary Watson. Rachel Benaissa starred, among other things, in the BBC film adaptation of “Normal People” (currently available as a stream in the ZDF media library) – alongside stars such as Paul Mescal (28) and Daisy Edgar Jones (26). The series is based on the successful novel by Irish author Sally Rooney (33).
