Stingy at the fundraising gala? Krasavice criticizes politicians

At the TV gala “A Heart for Children”, Merz, Lindner, Söder and Klingbeil donated a maximum of four-digit sums – too little, many say. Rapper Katja Krasavice expresses herself more clearly.

The rapper Katja Krasavice has accused top German politicians of being stingy at the TV fundraising gala “A Heart for Children”. “I am of the opinion that people who have a lot of money also have to donate a lot of money, there is no discussion about it,” said the influencer in a video on the Tiktok platform. “Why shouldn’t a rich politician also donate a lot of money? Where’s the fairness in that?”

That’s how much the top politicians donated

The politicians had actually not contributed the largest sums of the evening when the comedians Ralf Schmitz and Hazel Brugger approached prominent guests in the hall while hunting for donations. Ex-Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) agreed to a donation of 2,000 euros at the ZDF gala on Saturday evening with the words “You know my professional situation,” as did Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU).

CDU leader Friedrich Merz initially tied the amount of a planned donation somewhat awkwardly to the results of election surveys, but later announced on Platform X that he would donate 4,000 euros. SPD leader Lars Klingbeil, who was the first to be approached by the comedian duo, chipped in with 500 euros.

There was then a hail of criticism on social media that the top politicians had been too stingy. Others defended her and praised the fact that large sums of money had been donated at all.

But Krasavice does not accept the saying “Every cent counts” in these cases. “That’s what you say to people who are sitting in front of the television who are extremely short of money,” said the 28-year-old. For these people, every cent actually counts. “If a person like that donates a euro, it’s worth the world.”

Krasavice donated a total of 150,000 euros

However, Krasavice showed no understanding for the donations announced by top politicians. She said she had donated a total of 150,000 euros in recent years.

On Saturday, footballer Toni Kroos was one of the more generous guests of the “Bild” newspaper’s traditional aid project when he announced 100,000 euros.

The Tiktok video of the rapper, who has already landed several number 1 albums, was viewed more than a million times within the first two hours.
