The National Government, through the Decree 1079/2024 published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette, approved the model loan contract signed with the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI). This agreement will allow financing the execution of the Program to Support Food Security in Argentina. Phase IIIwith an amount of up to 230 million dollars.

The main purpose of the program is strengthen food security of families in situations of social vulnerability in Argentina. The general objective of the aforementioned Program is to “support the execution of the Food Benefit to contribute to the food security of families in situations of social vulnerability in Argentina,” the letter stated.


This Project is structured into FOUR (4) Components: 1) Food Benefit Support, 2) External Audit, 3) Unforeseen Events and 4) Monitoring Commission. The execution and use of the financing resources will be carried out by the Ministry of Human Capital, which will act through the National Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and Family.
The implementation and administration of the resources will be in charge of the Ministry of Human Capitalwhich will operate through the National Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and Family. The decree was signed by Javier Milei, Guillermo Franco and Luis Caputo.
Argentina will also receive US$1 billion from the IBRD
Less than a week ago, two model contracts were approved with the IBRD (International Bank for Reconstruction and Development) for a total amount of US$1,000 million that will be divided into two projects linked to childhood. The announcements were made official by publishing the contracts in the Official Gazette through Decree 1070 and 1071/2024.
In one of the contracts to which US$500 million will be allocated, the objective will be to finance the Operation “Support for the Federal Policy to Improve Early Literacy.” The person who will execute the loan will be the Secretary of Education of the Ministry of Human Capital, which will act as the responsible administrative, financial and fiduciary area.
Meanwhile, in the second project, with another US$500 million, The objective is to finance the “Comprehensive Development of Early Childhood” Project. The objective is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of cash transfer programs for vulnerable populations, including pregnant women and children up to 48 months, and increase their access to early childhood development services in targeted areas of the country.
