Next Monday the general secretary of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and the president of the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation, Martin Menemwill be in Salta to make the launch of Freedom Advances at the national level, where the former deputy in the yellow jacket will have a leading role. In the case of the media, he would have recomposed his bond with President Javier Milei and would head the libertarian list to elect the 69 conventional reformers of the Santa Fe Constitution.
Salta was the second district where LLA obtained its own party seal, after La Rioja. The legal status was made easier because the soybean businessman Olmedo, who this year was removed from the presidency of the Parlasurchanged the name of his party Salta Somos Todos por La Libertad Avanza. The event was in April, also with the presence of Karina Milei and Menem. Since then, in the face of a frayed PRO from Salta and a radicalism mired in internal conflict, the libertarian space in that northern district has consolidated and is growing, after having hit the home run in the November 2023 ballot, when Milei obtained 57.88 % of the votes, compared to 42.11% of Sergio Massa.
This province has three libertarian national deputies: Carlos Zapata, Emilia Orozco and Julio Moreno. The last two were talked about in recent weeks because while Orozco was one of the absent deputies who prevented reaching a quorum to discuss the Clean File projectwhose approval would have prevented former president Cristina Kirchner from being a candidate. In a session, Moreno justified the restriction on free PAMI medications for retirees and pensionerss. “I don’t think it’s that big of a deal,” he said. The three respond to Olmedo, who will seek to reach the Senate of the Nation in the 2025 national legislative elections, due to the expiration of the Peronists’ mandates Nora del Valle Jiménez, Sergio Leavy and the former governor of Salta Juan Carlos Romeroclose to the Casa Rosada.

Next Monday’s meeting will be held at the Hotel Alejandro, where Karina Milei, Menem and Olmedo will offer a press conference at 4:30 p.m. A few days ago, Olmedo stated in an interview his agreement with President Milei’s initiative on charging for medical and educational services to foreigners not residing in the country. He recalled that in 2016 he presented a similar project in the Chamber of Deputiesproposing that services provided to people who do not contribute economically to the country be paid. “I have no doubt that the opportunist must be charged, but those who come to work and contribute to the country, no. I celebrate and support the initiative,” he said.
Building bridges
The provincial deputy Amalia Granata, from Santa Fehad a high exposure in recent days because he was absent, last week, when the bill that established the need to modify the Santa Fe Constitution of 1962 was voted on. The deputy had publicly expressed the opposite but was absent from the final debate because she traveled to the Vatican for an audience with Pope Francis.. His absence also caused the breakup of his five-member Somos Vida block, because his peers Omar Paredes and Edgardo Porfirivoted in favor of the governor’s project Maximiliano Pullaro. Both were expelled from the block.

Beautiful visit to Francisco where we had the opportunity to talk about the importance of defending the family against the advance of those who want to destroy it, the defense of the most vulnerable
And the concern about drug trafficking and consumption in the province of Santa… pic.twitter.com/4AT37fTrso— Amalia Granata (@AmelieGranata) December 4, 2024
Inside, however, Santa Fe sources point out that Granata recomposed his bond with Mileiafter months of distance, in which she had been critical of some decisions although she had not blown up the bridges. In the session prior to her trip to the Vatican, the provincial deputy whitewashed her approach to the Casa Rosada when she said: “We are going to run for constituent elections, we are going to win them and the first thing we are going to reform in the Constitution are the privileges of the Santa Fe political caste, beginning by proposing unicamerality and eliminating the Senate”.
Granata leads his party Unite for Freedom and Dignityand in 2023 she was the second most voted candidate in the PASO for the category of provincial deputies. The former governor was placed first Omar Perotti. It is noted that what has not yet been defined is whether he joins the libertarian ranks or makes an alliance with LLA. In either case, I would look to top the list.
This last Monday the 9th, the Santa Fe government published Decree 2,656/24 calling for the 2025 elections for provincial, municipal and communal authorities (19 mayors, councilors and communes in all localities). According to the norm, the primary elections will be held on April 13 and the general elections on June 29. It was established that along with the primary elections – on April 13 – the elections for Conventional Reformers will take place, a total of 69.
