A son of the man who tried to blackmail Michael Schumacher’s family wants to clarify a few things in front of the TV cameras. But he doesn’t have much time for that.
A strange scene took place in front of the RTL cameras in front of the district court in Wuppertal. Standing in front of the microphone is Noah L., whose father and older brother are accused of blackmailing Michael Schumacher’s family with sensitive pictures of the former racing driver. And Noah L. has his very own view of things. “In my opinion it wasn’t blackmail either. It was simply a sales pitch,” said the young man. “The matter is played up a little more because it involves a prominent person,” said L.

However, the man cannot say much more – although he would have liked to. A man storms into the picture from his left side and drags him away. This is the lawyer of the brother Daniel, who is also accused. “My client’s brother, Daniel L., wasn’t supposed to make a statement to the press. That was the agreement and that’s why we took him away,” explains defense attorney Hartmut Moyzio afterwards.
His marriage, his triumphs: Ralf Schumacher’s life in pictures
Ralf Schumacher announced his coming out on Instagram with this photo. “The best thing in life is when you have the right partner by your side with whom you can share everything,” he wrote about the picture that shows him arm in arm with a man. His good friend Carmen Geiss also revealed on Instagram that the man is a Frenchman named Etienne, who has been in a relationship with Schumacher for two years. It is only the second relationship that the former professional racing driver has made public; Ralf Schumacher was in the spotlight from a young age. A look back.

Father and son have now confessed to their involvement in the attempted blackmail. “I’m responsible for it. I did the shit,” said the 53-year-old from Wuppertal at the start of the trial at the district court.
Confessions in court
He said to the lawyer who represents Corinna Schumacher as a co-plaintiff: “Please tell the family that I am really sorry.” His co-accused son helped him. “I see my mistake,” said 30-year-old Daniel L. The indictment states that the blackmailer demanded 15 million euros – otherwise private photos and videos of the Schumacher family would be published on the darknet.
A verdict in the case is not expected until the new year.
