Their hit remains a long-running hit

Udo Lindenberg and Apache 207’s “Komet” continues to shine: the hit has been in the charts for 98 weeks – a new record.

It is a success story that is second to none: The song “Komet” by German rocker Udo Lindenberg (78) and the Mannheim rapper Apache 207 (27) has become one of the biggest hits of all time. Almost two years after its release, the track is still in the official German single charts and is currently in eighth place – a new record.

Milestones in the music sky

The success of the song, which was released on January 19, 2023, initially did not seem to be a given. With its sensitive minor key entry in the typical Lindenberg vocal style and the striking beat of Apache 207, “Komet” unites two musical worlds that could hardly be more different. But it was precisely this connection between generations and musical genres that resonated and made the song a timeless hit.

The chart performance of “Komet” speaks for itself: the title has been in the German single charts continuously for 98 weeks. No song has ever achieved this before. The song dominated the hit lists as early as 2023 and landed at number one on the annual balance sheet.

Big tour – and an anti-war song

Apache 207 announced another concert series in the fall. After his arena tour in 2024, the musician’s “most extensive and longest tour” to date will follow next year, which will take him to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He will perform several times in some cities, including four times in Cologne and Berlin – a total of 34 concerts are scheduled. The tour will start on November 21, 2025 in Dortmund. The concerts in Leipzig, Frankfurt, Oberhausen, Stuttgart and Munich will follow in 2025. In 2026 it will go to Vienna, Cologne, Hanover, Zurich, Berlin and Mannheim. The last concert is scheduled to take place in Hamburg on February 14, 2026.

Meanwhile, Unicef released the anti-war song “What are wars for?” by Udo Lindenberg in a new international version. The organization announced this in a press release at the end of October. .
