Ex-Bachelor Sebastian Pannek raves about the format offshoot “Golden Bachelor”. The show has a “different vibe, with a lot of feeling.”
The new format offshoot “Golden Bachelor” has been running on the RTL+ streaming platform since December 3rd. In it, the 73-year-old former teacher Franz Stärk looks for happiness in love among 18 women on Crete. The viewers are thrilled. “I love this show already!! It’s so heartwarming and refreshing to finally see real, normal people on reality,” it reads.
And how do the previous “Bachelor” Rosenkavaliers assess the new format? The news agency spot on news asked Sebastian Pannek (38). In 2017, he sought happiness in love in the seventh season of the TV dating show “The Bachelor” (since 2003). He was together with finalist Clea-Lacy Juhn (33) for around a year. In 2019 he finally got together with Angelina Pannek (32, “Bachelor” candidate in season 4). As a model family, they now commute between Germany and Mallorca with their three children and two dogs.
Watch “Golden Bachelor”, how do you like the show?
Sebastian Pannek: Yes, I watch “Golden Bachelor” and I find the concept really nice and refreshing. It shows that love really does matter at every age and that real connections can be created when people approach each other openly and honestly. The show definitely has a different vibe than the regular seasons – not quieter as you might have expected, but with a lot of feeling.
What is the biggest difference – apart from age – from your squadron?
Pannek: I think the biggest difference is how much more honest and mature the whole thing seems. The conversations are deeper, and you can tell that the participants are really looking for someone to love and aren’t just in it to get famous or land the next reality show. That makes the whole dynamic much more real and, to be honest, totally exciting because it’s really about the thing – love.
What do you think of Bachelor Franz Stärk?
Pannek: I think Franz is a great choice. He seems totally likeable, warm-hearted and genuine. You can just feel that he takes the adventure seriously and treats the women with respect. That makes him special for the show because he remains authentic despite everything.
Which of the ladies is your favorite?
Pannek: To be honest, I don’t really like to commit myself to that because every woman is impressive in her own way. Each one brings a special story and personality, which is what makes it so exciting. But I have great respect for women who embark on this adventure with so much openness and courage. One lady who particularly impressed me is Susanne. She radiates something that just stays with you. But in the end Franz decides who really reaches his heart – and that can hardly be predicted from the outside.
