Early birthday present: Swift breaks Billboard record
Taylor Swift collects records. She has just completed her record tour and now she can celebrate her 35th birthday with another record.
The US singer Taylor Swift started her 35th birthday with another record award. Swift collected ten awards at the Billboard Awards and now has a total of 49 – more than any other music star. “This is the best early birthday present,” Swift said in a pre-recorded video message that aired at the music gala on TV just hours before Swift’s birthday began. “It’s exactly what I wanted.”
She has already collected dozens of awards
Swift had just finished her record-breaking concert series at the weekend, which, according to industry estimates, grossed around two billion dollars (around 1.9 billion euros) with more than ten million tickets sold, making it the highest-grossing tour in history. She has also collected dozens of other awards throughout her career.
At the Billboard Music Awards, Swift was followed by singers Zach Bryan with five awards and Morgan Wallen with four awards, as well as Shaboozey, Bad Bunny, Drake and Elevation Worship with three each. The awards from the trade magazine Billboard are based, among other things, on chart positions.
