Carla Bellucci loves a sumptuous Christmas dinner. The costs should be borne by the guests. That’s 240 euros per head – without the wine.
Carla Bellucci’s Christmas dinner, 42, is attracting worldwide attention and even outright hatred. And it’s neither the dishes nor Bellucci’s cooking skills – she doesn’t plan on cooking herself at all.
To get a seat at her dinner table, her family members had to pay 200 pounds, the equivalent of 240 euros. Without drinks, guests should bring their own wine with the meal. Bellucci only provides champagne. You can choose from: butternut squash soup or salmon tarts as a starter, beef Wellington or traditional roast turkey as a main course and a choice of tiramisu or Christmas pudding for dessert.
“Since we are in a cost of living crisis and everything has become more expensive, I have to cover the costs somehow,” said the former glamor model in a video post. The year before the contribution was 150 pounds.
Family goes on strike
Her family members didn’t like the idea. They have already canceled and are spending the day with another family member – without Carla and probably without a bill. She even thinks the price is cheap: “People say that you can go to a restaurant for that money, but a visit to a restaurant only lasts an hour or two.”
The price is also quickly explained. Carla Bellucci wants to use top ingredients and hire a top chef – on the most sought-after day of the year. Six guests raise a total of 1,200 pounds, the cook and meal cost 1,000 pounds – there’s just a little something left for the champagne. Bellucci also complains that she still has to pay the heating costs and the electricity bill.
That’s the price of something special: “People say that Christmas is a time of giving and stuff. Anyone can do that if they buy a turkey at the discount store. That’s completely fine. But if you want something nice, It’s just going to cost something.”
Contribution to Christmas dinner customary
Only adults have to pay, children under 16 get in free. “They should really be grateful that I’m taking the pressure off them – paying is the least they can do for all the time and effort I’m putting in.” Bellucci is not alone. According to a study by NatWest Bank, 27 percent of Brits will ask their guests for a contribution towards expenses because food prices have risen so sharply. However, on average only 17 pounds is expected.
Carla Bellucci is working tirelessly to build her image as Britain’s most hated mother. A few years ago she cheerfully announced that her four children unfortunately couldn’t get any Christmas presents because there was no money left in the till. The reason: Bellucci had treated himself to presents worth 8,000 pounds.
She was more generous at her daughter’s 18th birthday. She didn’t want her daughter’s first sip of alcohol to be a “sad £5 Prosecco”. So she hired three half-naked strippers to serve her daughter champagne. She was also attacked for this.
Bellucci became famous for another outrage. She feigned depression. When she became ill, she got the health system to cover the costs of her cosmetic surgery. Afterwards, however, she had to move: “The extent of the insults that I experience are unbelievable,” complains Bellucci. “You’re making my life hell.”
