Marius Borg Høiby is currently being treated and yet there is trouble again: the police are investigating a new offense against Mette-Marit’s son.

The police are again investigating the son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Marius Borg Høiby. As a police spokesman told several Norwegian media outlets, it was a suspected violation of a contact ban. According to the NTB agency, the lawyer for Høiby’s ex-girlfriend confirmed that her client had been questioned in the matter and that evidence had been secured. According to NTB, Høiby’s lawyer Øyvind Bratlien said his client did not believe he had violated a no-contact order.

The woman concerned recently spoke out and contradicted the rape allegations. She doesn’t have the feeling that she was raped by the 27-year-old. Their lawyer Gunhild Vehusheia told the Norwegian newspaper “Verdens Gang” that they were friends, but not lovers. She also spoke out in favor of lifting the ban on contact. “It is done in the public interest and not at her request. She wants the ban to be lifted. She is not afraid that Marius Borg Høiby will contact her or harass her,” Vehusheia said.

New allegations have been made against the eldest son of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit since this summer. After initial reports of alleged bodily harm and property damage, he admitted in August that he had become violent towards his then-girlfriend under the influence of alcohol and cocaine and had destroyed things in her apartment.

Marius Borg Høiby was imprisoned for a week

New allegations of several alleged sexual offenses recently emerged, which Høiby denies. He was held in custody for a week as a result of the new allegations, but was released again on November 27th. According to his lawyer, Høiby then went straight into treatment. He is still there, Høiby’s defender Øyvind Bratlien told the NTB news agency and other Norwegian media.

Høiby is determined to continue rehabilitation, even if it is demanding, said Bratlien. It was not clear from the information whether this was a classic withdrawal. However, the newspaper “Aftenposten” reported that Høiby was being treated for problems with intoxicants.

Marius Borg Høiby is the eldest of Mette-Marit’s three children and the stepson of the heir to the throne, Crown Prince Haakon. The 27-year-old belongs to the royal family, but does not have the title of prince and is not an official member of the Norwegian royal family. All allegations against him so far are accusations – he has still not been charged with any of the points.
