Who would have recognized him?

At the premiere of his new film, Timothée Chalamet was barely recognizable with blonde hair and an unglamorous normcore outfit.

Timothée Chalamet (28) came up with something new for the premiere of his new film “A Complete Unknown” in New York. The actor is known for his androgynous, experimental styles. This time, however, he was barely visible.

Instead of making a fashion statement, this time the “Dune” star went for absolute normcore. Chalamet appeared wearing a black leather jacket over a red flannel shirt, with a gray patterned scarf around his neck and a light blue cap on his head. His usual black curls weren’t visible underneath, but rather blonde fringes on his forehead. Chalamet was almost impossible to identify and embodied the complete opposite of the glamorous styles he usually presents on such occasions.

Chalamet as Dylan’s double

But the fashion reorientation has a background: Bob Dylan (83), whom Chalamet embodies in his latest film, appeared at the Sundance Film Festival in 2003 in exactly the same outfit: leather jacket, flannel shirt, gray patterned scarf, white and blue checkered hat and the blonde hair.

Dylan might laugh at the homage. At the beginning of December he had already commented positively on his actor. : “Timmy is a brilliant actor, so I’m sure he’ll be completely believable as me. Or as my younger self. Or as another me.”

The biopic “A Complete Unknown” is based on the 2015 book “Dylan Goes Electric” by Elijah Wald. “It’s a fantastic retelling of the events from the early ’60s that led to the Newport fiasco,” says Dylan Contents of the book and the film. At the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, Bob Dylan shocked fans and the folk world by performing, among other things, with an electronic guitar, which was a complete surprise to the audience.
