What happened in Liam Payne’s final hours? A friend described his state of mind as good now.
It is still not completely clear what happened to Liam Payne’s (1993-2024) far too short life in the last days and hours. The former member of the boy band One Direction famously fell to his death in Buenos Aires on October 16, 2024. Now Payne’s close friend Roger Nores has spoken out again – and talked about the singer’s state of mind on his last day on earth.
Roger Nores’ controversial role on Liam Payne’s death anniversary
Nores and Payne were together in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires in October. The police there are also investigating the Argentine entrepreneur. He is one of three people who are accused of “neglect of a person resulting in death as well as the supply and distribution of narcotics.” For these reasons, the Argentine businessman was explicitly not welcome at Payne’s funeral almost two weeks ago.
Nores, who was with Payne until an hour before his death, has now explained that he saw him three times on that day. When he left the hotel where the tragedy occurred an hour before his fatal fall, Payne Nores appeared “happy and well, if a little tipsy,” according to TMZ.
Problematic behavior of the hotel staff
According to Argentine police, Payne was said to have been drinking heavily and taking the drug cocaine on the day of his death. “Can you get 6 grams?” he is said to have asked his friend Nores via text message.
At the end of November it was reported that Payne was said to have been carried from the lobby of the hotel back to his room by three people, including hotel staff, shortly before his death, shortly before the tragedy occurred there. He then fell from his balcony.
A photo of this worrying behavior by the hotel staff was available to the British newspaper, which then raised the question of why the staff did not leave the singer in the lobby of the hotel and get help such as an ambulance for him, instead of leaving him alone in his room with a balcony leave third floor.
