Jane Seymour on forest fires: Whole house smells like smoke

Firefighters in California have been battling forest fires for days. Thousands have to leave their homes – including actress Jane Seymour. She is grateful.

Actress Jane Seymour (73) thanked the firefighters in view of the forest fires on the US West Coast. The flames did not reach her home and emergency services got there quickly, she said. “The whole house smells like smoke. But we’re just so grateful.” The fire department did an incredible job.

Seymour, who comes from Great Britain, is known for the television series “Dr. Quinn – A Passionate Doctor” and once played a Bond girl in “James Bond 007 – Live and Let Die”. She has lived in the USA for a long time. Firefighters are currently battling wildfires in Malibu.

“We all got out on time”

If you stand where you live, look up the hill and see that the fire has come so close to every house, it is incomprehensible that so few buildings were burned, Seymour said at an event in the USA, according to the British news agency PA. It is terrible for those who have lost everything.

Late on Monday evening, her partner’s son called her and asked her to leave the house. “We all got out on time because of that,” Seymour said. She had jeans and a sweater that she wore for four days.
