Mystery surrounding a post by the satirist Sebastian Hotz: “El Hotzo” comments on lying in relationships in a social media post and leaves the audience with many questions.
Comedy author and satirist Sebastian Hotz aka “El Hotzo” spoke out on X about cheating in relationships. “I have been repeatedly unfaithful in relationships in recent years and have subsequently covered up my actions with increasingly complicated lies and discredited the credibility of my (ex) partners,” the 28-year-old wrote on Sunday. However, Hotz left it open who he was referring to.
The podcaster titled his statement on X with the words: “I would like to briefly comment on the allegations.” However, he did not say who specifically had made which accusations against him.
“Publicly represent completely different values”
He wrote that he had exploited his position and his image “as a reflective media person and thereby hurt many people greatly.” “I publicly represent completely different values, while privately I acted completely oppositely.” He wanted to “apologize from the bottom of my heart” to all the people he had hurt.
The statement sparked numerous reactions online. Some users also wondered whether this was a satirical post. The author left that open in the evening.
Sebastian Hotz’s management confirmed the authenticity of the thread to “Spiegel”. In response to a dpa request, management announced that they would like to comment further.
Already in the headlines in July
Hotz hit the headlines in July. At that time, screenshots of posts on The entries were later deleted. The ARD broadcaster Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) then ended its collaboration with Hotz on the youth channel Fritz. Shortly afterwards, ARD Kultur also canceled a literary event with him.
In November, a comedy documentary with Hotz entitled “I’m sorry, Mr. President – The deep fall of El Hotzo” was launched on the streaming portal RTL+. In the format, Jan Böhmermann sends Hotz to the USA to apologize for a tasteless joke about Donald Trump and to show the situation before the elections.
