About the Esteban Bullrich Foundation

In April 2021, Esteban Bullrich was diagnosed with ALS. Despite the painful news, Esteban refused to let the disease define the course of his life and his vocation. In his public letter he expressed: “I am part of something much bigger than ‘me’, and my vocation to serve is intact.”

Motivated by his example, his family and friends decided to create the Esteban Bullrich Foundation, with the mission of improving the quality of life of ALS patients throughout the country.

The Foundation focuses on four fundamental pillars to support the ALS community:

  • Accompaniment to patients and families: Provide support and advice, promoting exchange spaces to share experiences and learn from each other.
  • Investigation: Facilitate the participation of Argentine patients in treatments developed in other countries and promote local research to advance the fight against ALS.
  • Training: Offer training to health professionals and students, with the aim of promoting early diagnosis and comprehensive care for patients and their families.
  • Awareness: Carry out dissemination campaigns in the media and social networks, organize events that make ALS visible and promote awareness.

The award granted by the Rotary Club of Buenos Aires was in recognition of its training program, in alliance with National Universities throughout the country on ALS for students and health professionals. In 2024, 17 interdisciplinary training sessions were carried out, where 2,967 students and health professionals from 9 provinces participated.
