For a long time, Hollywood star Michael Fassbender didn’t like the music of the Swedish band Abba. That changed when he feared for his life on a boat, as he now says.
Hollywood star Michael Fassbender (“Steve Jobs”, “X-Men”) only learned to appreciate the music of the band Abba when he was in a boat at sea during a storm and feared he would sink. “I never really liked Abba,” the 47-year-old admitted on Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show.” That changed on a boat trip to Ibiza when it stormed so badly that plates were flying around.
Abba music was playing loudly on the ship. In the talk show, Fassbender recounted how he held on to the rocking boat while listening to the cheerful Abba hit “Dancing Queen.” “I was basically clinging to the boat and Abba was playing – and I finally understood Abba,” said the German-Irish actor. “I thought: If we have to die tonight, this is a good soundtrack to die on.”
