Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé: Why do they look so similar?

It is said that imitation is the highest form of worship. It has been used since ancient times by artists and speakers. Kim Kardashian is loved by her fans for constantly reinventing herself visually; she changes her look as often as others change their socks. But your current transformation goes too far for many people. In the photos Kardashian just uploaded to Instagram, many thought they were looking at Beyoncé. Only at second glance did they realize that it was Kim herself, dressed up as Beyoncé! With blonde hair, lips, eyes and cheeks made up like the singer.

The malice online immediately followed, “Typical Kim who steals other people’s ideas,” commented a user on the social media platform “Reddit.” Another wrote: “Somehow she makes everything she does and tries look cheap.” But Kardashian fans also reacted irritably. “Kimberly Beyoncé Kardashian, what’s that all about?” wrote one under her post. Or: “You don’t look like yourself at all!”

It’s not the first time that Kim Kardashian has been accused of copying her former role model. At the 2015 Met Gala, she wore a dress with lots of lace and sheer skin that was very reminiscent of Beyoncé’s dress that she wore three years earlier. Conversely, Beyoncé’s look at the start of her 2023 concert film “Renaissance World Tour” reminded many of Kim Kardashian. The singer wore a tight, shiny silver Versace gown with platinum blonde, straight hair. Donatella Versace celebrated her for this in a post.

The women also have a lot else in common. Both established a then new, curvy image of beauty, both had marital problems with their rap husbands. Both gave their children unusual names, Blue Ivy (Beyoncé) and North (Kardashian). But while Beyoncé is the glamor queen, Kim Kardashian still has a slightly cheap image. This makes it clear to many people who is the original and who is the fake.

She hasn’t confirmed that Kim Kardashian wanted to resemble Beyoncé in her new pictures. With the pictures she is promoting the new collection of her fashion and shapewear brand “Skims”, which has the evocative name “Winter Heat”. Their fans can buy them from December 18th, writes Kim.
