The government of the province of Buenos Aires is promoting a Christmas box with products made by cooperatives that Buenos Aires residents will be able to access for an affordable price in the different markets located in the municipalities.
The initiative is promoted by the Ministry of Provincial Agrarian Development in joint work with different cooperatives
What does the Buenos Aires Christmas box contain?
The box – which contains a cider, a wine, a sweet bread, a pudding, a peanut nougat, a sugar candy, a peanut with chocolate and a peanut-based product – can be obtained at the Fixed Buenos Aires Markets of Morón, Ensenada, Ituzaingó and Florencio Varela for a value of 12 thousand pesos.
The Ministry of Agrarian Development stated that those who make their purchase with a DNI Account will have access to a 40% discount.
The initiative is part of the Buenos Aires Markets policy, whose main objective is to guarantee access to quality food at fair prices, strengthening the direct link between producers and consumers.
“We want Buenos Aires families to close the year with the best local products and the peace of mind of affordable prices,” stood out from the Government.
Launch of the Sol a Sol operation
In parallel, this Thursday Axel Kicillof launched the Sol a Sol Operation 2024/25 which seeks to increase the security of the different tourist towns on the Buenos Aires coast, facing the summer season. With an act from Miramar (General Alvarado’s party), the president vindicated the work of the provincial state and criticized the national government’s lack of investment in tourism: “We launched this Sol a Sol Operation, which is a record in deployment of security, health and transportation, to tell “Everyone, the province of Buenos Aires awaits you with open arms,”
“There are no policies that encourage consumption, You are invited to buy things produced elsewhere and spend your summers abroad.“added Kicillof. Among other details, the operation will deploy 25,000 troopsin addition to mobiles, patrol cars, trucks, quadricycles, helicopters and so on. “We need a Buenos Aires summer, with ours, for ours and inviting everyone to want to come,” said Kicillof.

In his inauguration speech, Kicillof referred to what was done by the province of Buenos Aires in terms of public works and state intervention in contrast to Milei’s management, which according to the Buenos Aires governor “did not build a single sewer.” In this sense, he explained that the province invested “US$280 million dollars“.
Regarding the summer season, Kicillof predicted: “This year we are going to have a great season despite the absence of the national government and the exchange competitiveness because we Buenos Aires residents do not lower our arms“.
In reference to Operation Sol, it will have some 25,000 police officers, 200 patrol cars, 150 vans and 600 motorcycles, prevention and care tasks for tourists on the Atlantic coast, mountains and lakes. In addition, the Tourist Attention Service (SAT)which will include 20 prevention and health care posts in 11 municipalities of the provincewith specialized medical personnel, 50 ambulances, a medical helicopter and other resources.
