Katie Holmes was surprised by her daughter Suri with a special 46th birthday present.
For her 46th birthday, Katie Holmes received a very special gift from her daughter Suri Cruise (18). The “Dawson’s Creek” actress shared a snapshot of a gorgeous bouquet of purple roses that her daughter gave her on her anniversary. “I am so grateful for all my blessings, especially my daughter,” Holmes wrote.
Close mother-daughter relationship
The close relationship between Holmes and her daughter is no secret. Since her divorce from Tom Cruise (62) in 2012, the actress raised Suri alone. Holmes said in 2019 that she felt like she and Suri “grew up together.”
Suri, now a freshman at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, is regularly spotted with her famous mother in New York City. Holmes also stood by her daughter through important milestones, including her high school graduation from LaGuardia High School in June and her move into college dorms two months later.
Protection from publicity
Most recently, Holmes defended her daughter from media attention as she dismissed rumors of an alleged trust fund. “In today’s world, I don’t want to have a target on my child’s back. It’s dangerous,” the actress explained. The two support each other – Suri came especially from college to see her mother’s Broadway premiere of “Our Town” in October.
