Surgery lasting several hours after a cancer diagnosis

Julian Lennon has been diagnosed with cancer again. From the airport the musician went straight to surgery.

The son of John Lennon (1940-1980), Julian Lennon (61), had to endure an emergency operation lasting several hours. The medical procedure was necessary because of a cancer diagnosis. The musician and photographer said on social media that he underwent the surgery after abnormal spots on his arm were examined.

Julian Lennon said his dermatologist told him he should have surgery as soon as possible because she was worried about his shoulder and forearm. Skin cancer was discovered in one place, Lennon said.

He further revealed that the doctor had already “saved his life” with a cancer diagnosis. In February 2020, Lennon revealed that he had to have a birthmark that he had had on his head his whole life removed following a biopsy.

From the airport straight to the operation

The 61-year-old apparently came to the doctor again for a routine check-up in Los Angeles before flying to New York for a series of events – but shortly after his arrival he received a message that he had to return “urgently”.

He wrote: “So instead of flying home to put up my Christmas tree and end the year comfortably at home, I flew straight back to Los Angeles after completing my work in New York and went straight from the airport Surgery by a surgeon recommended by Dr. Tess.”

Julian Lennon continued: “The operation was successful, but we still have to wait for the results of the biopsy, which we probably won’t receive before Christmas.” He thanked the doctors for being able to “coordinate” the operation at such short notice, but also for hopefully saving my life once again…” He then called on his followers to get preventive care themselves. “I love life and want to live a very long time, and this is a path that can decide the future…” he wrote. At the end of his post it says: “I wish you all happy holidays and a healthy, long life.”
