Summer holidays: how are the routes in Córdoba?

In the run-up to the end of the year festivities and the beginning of summer vacationthe governor of Cordova, Martin Llaryorainaugurated the highways Calamuchita and Punillaa historical milestone for the province, which will provide greater road safety for residents and better connection for tourists.

With an event that began in the Próspero Molina square in Cosquín and concluded at the roundabout located kilometers before the access to the city of Alta Gracia, Cordova reinforced its commitment to tourism and road safety, with 50 new kilometers of highways.

“Córdoba grew 400,000 more inhabitants in the last census. And that had to do with infrastructure, the possibility of coming to beautiful places, with communication. It is the infrastructure that is giving us the qualitative leap and the leap in differentiation with the rest of the sister provinces, making Córdoba one of the most attractive places to live and invest,” said Llaryora, and added: “We are going to see tremendous growth in Punilla, Paravachasca and Calamuchita.”

Governor Llaryora toured both highways. From Molinari, in Punilla, aboard a vehicle from the Cordoba Association of Antique Car Collectors, he crossed the valley to reach route C-45, which was also recently intervened by duplicating the road to transform it into a road with two lanes per direction of traffic. From there, the caravan of cars set a course towards Alta Gracia, linking the valleys of Punilla with that of Paravachasca, and with the new Calamuchita highway, also with this valley.

With these new works, the province shortens the distances to visit the different tourist spots of Córdobaso that all Cordobans and tourists have greater safety and road agility. “We, the people of Córdoba, have decided not to give up and continue doing infrastructure works,” said the president, who also remembered the former governor Juan Schiarettiwho made the decision to begin these works.

The governor highlighted that “in a country in crisis and recession, with so many difficulties, the people of Córdoba are going to make a historic event. Inauguration of a highway is already a historic event. Now, to inaugurate two, I don’t know where in the world they are going to have the luxury of doing it.”

“These works will multiply potential, save lives and, above all, bring people closer. One can come safer, calmer and faster. With this, the possibility of many who sometimes went to live, for example, in Córdoba, to live here today and be able to work in Córdoba begins to be enhanced,” the governor explained about the Punilla Highway.

The Calamuchita Highway has about 28 kilometers that connect the city of Alta Gracia with the town of Villa Ciudad de América; while The Punilla Highway is developed in an area close to 22 kilometers that goes from the Costa Azul Bypass to the entrance to Molinari.

Both routes cross a total of 11 towns. In addition, they symbolize a transcendental advance for Córdoba’s road infrastructure, with a total extension of 49.6 kilometers.

In that sense, the governor pointed out that “all these highways transform the mobility of our province and generate opportunities for everyone. They are iconic works and if they are made in Córdoba they can be made anywhere in Latin America. And that is the value of the works, which transform the lives of people, improve the quality of life and generate jobs. And because governing means generating work, we carry out infrastructure works.”
