Tom and Bill Kaulitz: Your 2024 had ups and downs

In 2024 there was hardly a day when you didn’t hear from Tom and Bill Kaulitz (35). Be it with her podcast, her own Netflix reality documentary, appearances on TV, at summer festivals in Germany, on tour in the USA and South America or at the Halloween party of Tom’s famous wife Heidi Klum (51). They succeeded in many things that the twins attempted. But not everything…

As in the previous year, when RTL pushed its music game show “That’s My Jam” from free TV to its streaming portal due to weak ratings, “The Superduper Show” was also poorly received by the audience. After the opening episode on September 17th, ProSieben immediately removed the program in which the brothers competed with other celebrities for show ideas from the program. Only around 240,000 14 to 49 year olds tuned in on Tuesday evening. However, the station has probably not completely written off the format with presenter Katrin Bauerfeind (42). The show will be shown in a more family-friendly slot in 2025, it said.

Just a week after the not super duper premiere on ProSieben, the next defeat for the Twins followed. On September 25th they came away empty-handed at the German Television Prize in Cologne. “The Traitors – Trust No One!” was named “Best Entertainment Reality!” (RTL), so their Netflix series “Kaulitz & Kaulitz” was left behind. In 2023 they were able to win a television award.

However, the Kaulitz documentary was so well received by the audience that the streaming giant quickly announced a second season because of the mega hit. In the Halloween special of “LOL: Last One Laughing” (Prime Video) in October, the twins were able to score points as a team until the end and withstand all the laughter attacks. They secured the trophy and 50,000 euros in prize money for the organization IFAW International Animal Welfare Fund.

Things were also going well for Tom in his private life: he was able to celebrate his fifth wedding anniversary with Heidi at the beginning of August and received a huge public declaration of love from her. “I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. I love you, Tom. We celebrate our love today and every day,” she wrote on Instagram.

With Permanent Single Bill it seems to have been more complicated in 2024 too. Things probably didn’t work out with reality star and pop singer Marc Eggers (38), even though Bill had received an important long-distance relationship tip from his sister-in-law Heidi Klum: keeping a shared calendar. But then Bill suddenly stopped following Marc on Insta- and revealed in the podcast “Kaulitz Hills – Mustard from Hollywood” in mid-December that he had a hot flirt with a new dream man on the plane from Mexico to Peru for the next live show.

A German happened to be sitting next to him. The man looked “really hot,” they chatted for six hours, drank and talked about their lives: “It was so exciting.” He also invited him directly to the concert in Lima. “And now, of course, I immediately think: fate. Fate encounter.” Who knows, maybe there will be the long-awaited private happy ending for Bill at the end of the year. The Tokio Hotel frontman was still able to fulfill a big dream professionally in 2024. He launched his first own perfume called “Himmel” in November.

Things will continue to be turbulent for the Kaulitz twins in 2025. They are going on a European tour with Tokio Hotel, which also includes some dates in Germany. Concerts are scheduled in March 2025 in Ludwigsburg, Hanover, Cologne, Berlin, Leipzig and Hamburg. The second season of her Netflix hit is also scheduled to air. And maybe “The Superduper Show” will become another Kaulitz hit on a different time slot the second time around.
