Michelle Hunziker and her daughter Aurora sing “Love without suffering” in the TV show “Udo Jürgens Forever” – a “very emotional” performance.

Presenter Michelle Hunziker (47) and her eldest daughter, Aurora Ramazzotti (28), perform together on stage in the TV show “Udo Jürgens Forever” (December 23, 8:15 p.m., the first). In a double interview with spot on news, they explain how they came to be involved in the show, which commemorates the pop star on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his death (December 21st), and what the two of them actually have in common with the Austrian musician.

They are both part of the TV show “Udo Jürgens forever”. How did this come about?

Michelle Hunziker: First I was asked if I would like to host the show together with Sasha. I said “yes” straight away. And then at some point the idea came up that I would sing “Love Without Suffering” with my daughter. Then I asked Auri if she wanted to do it.

Aurora Ramazzotti: Of course I wanted to. I like the song and its meaning and it was a very personal performance with my mother. Since I don’t speak German, I had to learn the song first and my mother helped me to pronounce everything correctly.

The show was recorded in November at Circus Krone. What was it like to be on stage there together?

Hunziker: All I can say is that it was a lot of fun to be on stage with Aurora.

Ramazzotti: And it was a special honor to be able to sing this song, which Udo sang with his daughter Jenny in 1984, in front of Udo Jürgens’ family. That was a very emotional moment for all of us.

What do you generally associate with Udo Jürgens?

Hunziker: I have known Udo Jürgens’ music since my childhood. He was a great musician and artist who created countless songs that I heard growing up in Switzerland. Later I was able to see him personally at “Wetten,dass..?” get to know.

Which Udo Jürgens song do you associate with a personal experience?

Hunziker: My father always used to sing “At 66” as a mantra against getting older. And I watched “Tom and Jerry” with my dad and sang along to “Thanks for the Flowers.”

Were you already familiar with him before preparing for the show?

Ramazzotti: I didn’t know him before asking about the show because I grew up in Italy. But then I looked into him and was impressed by what a great artist he was.

They came to Munich to record the broadcast. Did you also have the opportunity to see something of the city?

Hunziker: Unfortunately we didn’t have time to go to Munich this time. We were busy with rehearsals etc. But I know Munich from many stays and like the city very much.

Ramazzotti: I have also been to Munich before with my boyfriend and I think the city is beautiful.
