Sido introduces 12-year-olds on stage and calls their singing “shit”

Every year rapper Sido appears with his Christmas show. When he brings a girl on stage to sing with her, he becomes abusive.

Instead of Christmas spirit, Sido spread discontent at his Christmas concert in Berlin this year. Last Sunday he repeatedly brought fans on stage who received high-quality gifts – such as an iPad – after a singing performance with their idol. When a 12-year-old girl from the audience comes forward and climbs onto the stage with Sido, she already seems excited – and answers the question of who she is and her age.

She bravely sings the first notes of the song “Leise ripples der Schnee” when the rapper breaks off. Turning to his band, he asks: “Are you messing around back there or is she a bit crazy?” A second attempt follows, this time the 12-year-old is allowed to sing a few more lines. Once again Sido seems visibly dissatisfied and asks, this time addressing the girl: “Have you ever sung that song in your life or are you singing it for the very first time? That was really shit.”

There was also no gift for her. “That wasn’t good enough,” the 44-year-old explains his decision in front of the thousands of fans in Berlin’s Columbiahalle and in the live stream. Instead, she was only allowed to choose two items from the merchandise stand, i.e. the fan items. But that’s not all: “Quiet, quiet, quiet,” he imitates the 12-year-old and thinks that the audience deserves a gift. There has so far been no apology for his behavior.

Sido, whose real name is Paul Würdig, has been performing his Christmas show for several years. Because of their great popularity, more and more performances have been added. This year he appeared on stage eleven times in the Columbia Hall. He broadcast his last show on Sunday live on YouTube and it has already been streamed over 200,000 times.
