“Riverdale” star Vanessa Morgan announced her engagement on Christmas Eve. A few days earlier, her partner asked the big question.
“Riverdale” star Vanessa Morgan (32) gave her followers another reason to celebrate on Christmas Eve. The actress announced on December 24 that she was engaged to her partner James Karnik. “Merry Christmas from me and my fiancé,” she wrote.
In the photos, the two can be seen surrounded by light installations, beaming at each other and exchanging caresses. The basketball player proposed to her on December 21st at the Glow Langley light festival in Canada. “We went for a walk and I really thought he was going to propose to me on Christmas morning, so I was completely surprised when it happened,” Morgan told the magazine.
Because of her partner’s foot injury, she was surprised that he wanted to visit the festival with her. “I asked him if he was sure he wanted to use crutches and he said, ‘For you, I will. I know how much you love this.’ That seemed a bit suspicious to me, but I didn’t think much of it,” she said. It was only when Karnik suddenly bent down to fix something on his shoes that she noticed. “He dropped his crutches and knelt and proposed to me,” said Morgan.
The couple was happy about the birth of a daughter in the summer
For her engagement ring, Karnik chose a 4.64-carat oval diamond surrounded by a rose gold band. The actress, who became known for her role as Toni Topaz in “Riverdale,” proudly held the ring into the camera in some of the pictures. “When I saw the ring, it was just stunning, and in that magical moment, with the lights all around us, it felt like the best Christmas present ever,” she recalled.
This year, Morgan and Karnik were able to celebrate the birth of their first child together. The actress gave birth to daughter Kaia Autumn Skye on July 27th. The “Teen Buzz” actress is also bringing her son River (3) with her into her upcoming marriage. She had her son with her ex-husband Michael Kopech (28). After about six months as a married couple, the baseball player filed for divorce, according to media reports.
