Christmas party with Frédéric von Anhalt

Heino spent Christmas Eve with Frédéric von Anhalt. The meeting over turkey and tea happened quite spontaneously.

Pop singer Heino (86) did a good deed for Christmas: The folk musician spontaneously took in the lonely Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt (81) in his adopted home of Kitzbühel and enjoyed a holiday meal with him. “My manager happened to meet Frédéric in town, who wanted to spend the holidays here alone. So I decided to invite him to our house for turkey dinner,” said the singer.

Heino and the German-American businessman have known each other for a long time: Frédéric only made him a knight of the House of Anhalt-Askanien in August. “It was a great pleasure for me to celebrate Christmas Eve with Heino and his family. Otherwise I would have sat all alone in front of a candle in the hotel,” explained Frédéric about the invitation. Heino is “not just the knight of my heart, but a real friend.”

Turkey and chamomile tea for the celebration

Frédéric von Anhalt was happy to attend the celebrations. Christmas Eve was spent with red wine, champagne and a 12 kilo turkey. During the course of the evening, Heino’s late wife Hannelore (1924-2023) was also remembered. “Heino is very lucky to be in a family that is there for him and in which he experiences security. I know that Christmas in particular without Hannelore wouldn’t be so nice for him,” says Frédéric von Anhalt. After the death of his wife Zsa Zsa Gabor (1917-2016), he was also often lonely on the holidays.

In Heino’s company, this loneliness quickly disappeared – and the adopted prince even received a Christmas present. “Frédéric received a year’s supply of various chamomile teas and honey from us. Because he is a passionate tea drinker,” explained Heino.

In addition to Frédéric von Anhalt, Heino’s manager Helmut Werner, his wife Nicole and their baby Lennie were also present at the Christmas party. Since the death of his wife Hannelore in November 2023, they have been caring for the 86-year-old and living with him under the same roof in Kitzbühel.
