These trends will occupy the fashion world in 2024

2024 brought with it some fashion trends. While some quickly disappeared again, these became the biggest fashion hypes.

The fashion year 2024 is coming to an end and is leaving some trends behind. The fashion world has shown itself from many different sides over the past twelve months. Delicate pastel colors and playful lace looks were paired with rocking biker boots and cool rivet details. However, other fashion highlights made the biggest waves.

Special collars

Over the past year, outerwear has become particularly diverse. Various collars enhanced blouses and shirts, but they also made jackets an eye-catcher. The polo collar celebrated its big comeback, adorning not only the typical shirts but also dresses. But other styles such as the Peter Pan collar also attracted attention, especially in summer. In autumn, the trend expanded to jacket fashion in line with the falling temperatures. High-necked jackets offered a fashionable alternative to scarves. The turtleneck also found its way back into everyday wardrobe over the course of the cold months.

Flat shoes

This year, high heels had to give way to flat shoes away from the red carpets and catwalks. Fashion lovers had a choice here. Loafers were equally popular in both halves of the year – the trend ranged from penny loafers to derbies and boat shoes. Slingback kitten heels, on the other hand, are suitable for evening events or party nights. The flat heels looked just as elegant as high-heeled shoes and were more comfortable to wear. This also applies to ballerinas, which were mainly seen in two versions in 2024. While mesh fabric kept the toes cool in summer, bows gave the shoes a playful look.

Grind

Bows weren’t just having a big moment on ballerinas. As a result of the balletcore trend, they adorned almost every piece of clothing. During the warm months, ballet sneakers featured large bows made of satin ribbons, replacing classic shoelaces. The tie detail was also characteristic and gave its name to the tie-front blouses. The blouses were tied at the front with bows, allowing a fresh summer breeze to touch the exposed skin. Bows are popular as hair accessories all year round, but especially at Christmas time.

Animal Print

Animal prints were in high season from the late summer months onwards. The animal print revival didn’t stop at any piece of clothing: it adorned blouses, dresses, handbags, shoes and even entire trousers. While zebra-look pieces were seen less frequently, leopard and cow patterns dominated the trend. Her fashion sense was demonstrated by Heidi Klum, among others, who was remembered with her leopard dress at two events on the Emmy weekend.

Naked dresses and naked tops

At red carpet events, naked dresses were among the most popular dresses in 2024. Celebrities like Jennifer Lopez (55), Bella Hadid (28) and Paris Hilton (43) showed a lot of skin in semi-transparent gowns. The naked top trend became more suitable for everyday use. Simple bustiers or bras covered the bare necessities under transparent blouses. For example, ex-“GNTM” winner Céline Bethmann (26) came out as a fan.
