ZDF says goodbye with appreciative words to Hannelore Hoger, who was seen for years as TV Commissioner Bella Block.
ZDF says goodbye to actress, theater director and speaker Hannelore Hoger (1942-2024). The actress of the cult detective Bella Block from the ZDF crime series of the same name died on December 21st at the age of 84.
“We bow to a wonderful person”
“With Hannelore Hoger, an extraordinary personality and a great actress of our time is leaving us. As Commissioner Bella Block, she spoke from the audience’s soul and thus reached their hearts and minds. We bow to an outstanding actress and a wonderful person,” praised ZDF director Dr. Norbert Himmler, the actress who played Inspector Bella Block for over 20 years. She was also seen in films such as “Deutschland im Herbst” and “Rossini” by director Helmut Dietl (1944-2015).
“Actress with soul, heart and mind”
“Hannelore Hoger was an actress with soul, heart and mind. She could tell everything – the warm as well as the cold. With her we could look into abysses and endure the pain of seeing as long as she looked with and for us at the perpetrators and victims. We “We have lost a great actress,” said ZDF program director Dr. Nadine Bilke on the death of the 84-year-old.
ZDF shows these films in her honor
In honor of Hannelore Hoger, ZDF will broadcast the film “Back to the Sea” on Friday (December 27th) at 1:10 a.m. and the episode “The Black Room” from the series “Bella Block” on Sunday (December 29th) at 11:30 p.m. . She first appeared in front of the camera for the series in 1994.
She received numerous awards for the role, which she held until 2018. In 38 episodes she embodied her “life role” for 24 years, for which she was awarded the Grimme Prize, the German Television Prize, the Golden Camera and the Bavarian Television Prize, among others.
